Literature Collections
- The advantage of the Book Stacks Library is that it is a single site which houses a lot of texts from other archives.
- Columbia University houses an online archive called Project Bartleby.
- The Data Text Library is a UK site for online literature.
- Etext.org (est. 1992) describes itself as "home to electronic texts of all kinds, from the sacred to the profane, from the political to the personal. Our duty is to provide electronic versions of texts without judging their content. " It's a terrific site which hosts (and links to) zines, electronic books, works on sports, religion, politics, legal issues, and much more.
- The University of Michigan houses a collection of online literature called the Humanities Text Initiative.
- The online site for National Poetry Month includes event listings, poems, information about poets, a create-a-poem section, links to related material, and even a quiz! It was created by (and is hosted by) Book Stacks Unlimited.
- The Oxford Text Archive is a very good collection housed by an FTP server in the UK. More information is available, as is a list of contents.
- Project Gutenberg is perhaps the most expansive online collection of literature. There is new user information available, as well as a mailing list for the project. Since the master FTP server is often heavily loaded, you may wish to access the project through alternatives such as the Web site and the Gopher server.
- The University of Virginia has both an Electronic Text Center and a modern English collection.

- Alex, a Gopher hotlink, is a catalogue
of electronic texts on the Internet.
- The Electronic Magazines page highlights
several fiction zines and hotlinks to other zine lists.
- Factsheet Five contains reviews of
various online zines and newsletters.
- John Labovitz maintains a huge ezine list.
- This list of online magazines is
organized alphabetically and has a description of each zine.
