John Ciglar - January 4, 1936
|
|
I, John Ciglar, doing business at 2362 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport,
Connecticut, do declare the following to be fact to the best of
my knowledge and belief:
I was present in the summer of 1901 or 1902, probably July or
August of one of those years, when one of the planes constructed
by the late Gustave Whitehead rose from the ground to a height
of approximately twelve feet and traveled under its own motor
power a distance of approximately thirty feet before it fell to
the ground and burst into flames. This plane was a bi-plane and
the flight occurred on Pine Street.
